One year into the global COVID-19 that wreaked havoc into our lives and disrubted our daily routine of work, we find ourselves anxious and cannot find a good night’s sleep. Those fortunate enough to have kept their jobs now have to work at home along with their families. The norms of our day to day lives have been put on hold from China to the far east of Africa.

Now, as the onslaught of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is upon us, many areas around the world are entering lockdowns again and as we enter the second phase of the pandemic with heightened anxieties, we all collectively need to get through this pandemic and utilize our time by making sure we do it productively.

#1 Acquire a new skill!

Udemy, Coursera, Skillshare, or YouTube are all popular online platforms where you can find lots of courses to upskill in your relevant field or take a lot of creative courses to just learn just for fun! Whatever subject you would like to learn, everything is available that you can apply to your practical life and upgrade.

#2 Learn a new language

According to statistics, if we put give at least 10 hours a day to learn a new language, then basic fluency in the easy languages will take 48 days, and for difficult languages, it could take just 72 days.

What greater time to learn a new language than this quarantine?

#3 Get physically active

If you havent started already, make it a habit to excercise during this lockdown and make it a part of your daily routine. You can also try gardening, brisk walking, cooking etc to stay physically active and healthy.

“ For those who dont make time for exercise, will have to make time for illness” Edwards Stanley

#4 Get A Haircut

As we all continue to lose are minds this lockdown, experimenting with getting a haircut is the most tempting thing to do right now. So, get those bangs, a pixie cut or any style out of your comfort zone. Start chopping!

#Play with your pet

Its very important to give all the love and attention to your pet and they adore you for it. Cats love strings, just take out a piece of yarn and drag it around your cat! Watch her go nuts after it.

Bottom line is, just keep yourself sane by doing anything you love doing by yourself or with your friends and family. We should spend every minute of our lives eating well, socializing and soaking up the culture around us. And if you cant? Well, we have a lot of time on our hands to daydream, zone out and do absolutely nothing. If doing nothing is what you need right now then, take a deep breath and switch off.
